As you know we are dedicated to easier access to public transportation. We are a non-profit international NGO with our roots in Bolivia & Germany. We are committed to help cities and regions to run their own public transport apps.
In Africa many people do not feel so comfortable with English. This is a big issue and translation is therefore strongly needed in order to cut down entry barriers. An issue we also need to overcome. So we asked the ones who can speak English to translate our documentation on how to map informal bus routes. In this post we would like to say Thank You to the translators TCHAMIE Léleng Denis and Kokou Elolo AMEGAYIBO – AKEAmazan. Both are from OSM Togo. Their work means a lot and is a positive contribution to a language diverse world.
And now we are happy to announce the French version of it 🙂 . I was really surprised about the fast translation done by the community of Togo. OSM Mali and OSM Ghana were very friendly, gave feedback and helped me to spread it. More people than necessary wanted to help translating 🙂
I also learnt something. The documentation lies on GitHub and the translation happened there. For the next translation project we should use another simpler service which integrates with GitHub. I feel some had problems with GitHub.
